DARIA LORENCI FLATZ, leading actress of the Drama company at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, recently premiered her one-woman play “I, THE ACTRESS!” on the HNK2 stage to great success, marking 25 years of her artistic work.

“I, THE ACTRESS!” is an original theatre project that emerges from the artist’s professional and personal experience. The play is based on an examination of the acting profession, identity, and the process of artistic creation, and is structured as a personal and professional reflection across various performance genres, from drama and burlesque to absurdism and comedy. At the heart of the project lies the relationship between private life and the public role of the artist, as well as a series of questions related to the multiple identities and responsibilities that contemporary life imposes on the individual.

“I, THE ACTRESS!” is a monodrama in which the author and performer explores on stage the limits of her own acting experience and the possibilities of theatre as a space for personal and artistic articulation. The project draws on biographical material but shapes it into a universal theatrical act that communicates with the audience through recognisable themes of professional and life decisions. Daria Lorenci Flatz is the leading actress of the Drama Ensemble at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, with a long-standing career in theatre, film, and television.

Over 25 years of artistic work, she has created a number of notable roles and is the recipient of numerous professional and film awards for her theatrical and film achievements.
