Dino Mustafić, the Bosnian-Herzegovinian theatre and film director, is recognised for his innovative style – one that speaks to retrospection of the self through historical events that remain deeply relevant and intriguing. In choosing to bring to the stage the work of Lebanese-Canadian writer and actor Wajdi Mouawad, he has assembled some of the greatest names in Serbian theatre: Svetlana Bojković, Svetozar Cvetković, and Miodrag Krstović, accompanied by Vukašin Jovanović, Tamara Šustić, Ivana Nikolić, Marija Pikić, and Vladan Milić.

“Birds of a Feather” is above all a drama that asks you to focus on several historical sequences, but at the heart of events is the identity of all its protagonists, who by a twist of fate find themselves in troubled times. The plot follows the spirited Eitan Zimmerman, a young geneticist of Jewish origin, and Vahida, a talented American of Palestinian descent, who begin a turbulent relationship in New York. Their relationship becomes permeated by traumas from the past – a sense of belonging defined not only by language and faith, but by a territory that is the eternal seed of discord between them.
