By combining dance, theatre and education, Staša Zurovac envisioned a project that has been in the making in Linz, Austria for six months – and is now offering it to Ulysses theatre.  

In Croatian Center Linz, this choreographer gathered together dance and theater enthusiasts for the purpose of a dance-theatre piece named Tanzstunden für Erwachsene und Fortgeschrittene or Dancing Lessons for the Advanced in Age.

In this collaboration of Ulysses Theater, and Croatian Center Linz, Staša Zurovac will present this work to the audience as one created by using some of the motifs of the novel by famous Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal. The project will not follow the story of the novel completely and literally, but it will serve as an inspiration for some segments of the piece.

The Author’s team and performers rely on the essence of love for life that novel the template delivers, even in the title itself.

Author’s imagination of Art is a base for the Theater available to everyone within its highest ethical and human code. It is a live encounter of those whose imagination and mutual love live in the same space and where the encounter itself turns audience, performers, space and moment into a one world.

Such a combination could be called a natural selection of space and time for choosing true lovers, or in this form, an encounter of author, amateurs and professionals in the creative process.
